The Loxford Practice hosted a successful Health & Wellness Open Day for all members of the public on Wednesday 16th November 2016. See pictures from the event below.
The event was well attended, mixed with members of the general public, Mayor of Redbridge Councillor Gurdial Bhamra, Mike Gapes MP, Councillor Taifur Rashid, members of Redbridge CCG and NHS England.
Attendees met the new GP Director at The Loxford Practice, Dr Muneeb Choudhry, Chief Executive of AT Medics Susan Sinclair, and new members of the practice team as well as the existing practice staff. The event helped to promote the role and benefits of The Loxford Practice, planned and ongoing improvements, as well as raising awareness about a number of local healthcare service providers accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Redbridge. A number of patients also signed up to the Patient Participation Group at the practice, a practice/patient partnership group designed to help ensure that the practice meets the needs of all of its patients.
Local service providers included Healthwatch Redbridge, Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure, Redbridge CVS, Fusion, the Community Dental Service, IAPT Talking Therapies, the Community Diabetes Team, FiND (Family Information Direct), the Loxford Children’s Centre, Redbridge Concern for Mental Health, the Integrated Sexual Health team at BHR University Hospital, Terrence Higgins Trust, Redbridge Carers, and Age UK Redbridge.
Staff at The Loxford Practice also provided services on the day: our Pharmacists and Healthcare Assistants provided over 40 free mini-health checks and were able to deliver several flu vaccinations to patients at risk.
AT Medics were delighted to host this event, and extend special thanks to the practice team who made this all possible.
